Straightening capacity of local interested organizations

Small –scale investment works will be implemented on the territory of 2 partners for solving common environmental issues: promotion of a good European practice for the use of a separate waste collection system in Bulgaria and Elimination and reduction of illegal dumping and landfill sites on riverbank in Demirkoy, Turkey and turning it into a beautiful park.

Cleaning action of Nature park Strandja

This year, the nonprofit organization "Friends of the Earth Bulgaria" organizes the 24th edition of its annual clean-ups and will be held at a non-traditional location - Strandzha Nature Park. ???? The venue will be Petrova Niva area, and from there we will make tours to other places in the area. We will have the opportunity to enjoy the splendor of the rare species of plants located in the area and the cool waters of the Mladezhka and Veleka rivers. ???? The volunteer participation fee is a donation supporting the cleanings, amounting to BGN 15. Food for the volunteers is provided for the entire period of the event. Cleaning of the Black sea coast

The Municipality of Burgas, together with the divers from the NGO "Friends of the Sea", will again clean the waste deposited on the seabed in the waters of the Burgas Bay. The eco-initiative will be held on two holidays, Lazarus Day and Palm Sunday (April 16 and 17), in the area of ​​the Sea Station - Burgas and Chengene Scaffolding. The water supply activity is preceded by the study of the ecological condition of the marine environment and those located in it both on the surface and on the bottom. The study is carried out in 6 selected landfills in the Gulf of Burgas (areas with increased anthropogenic pressure Port of Bourgas, Port of Sarafovo, the waters of the North and Central beaches, Chengene scaffolding and the island of St. Anastasia.

Protection and Preservation of Natural Environment in wetlands in Black sea and Mediterranion region

Bulgarian Biodiversity Foundation (BBF), Bulgarian Society for the Protection of Birds (BSPB), and Protection and Preservation of Natural Environment in Albania (PPNEA) have committed to organizing an international webinar Conservation and sustainable use of saltwater wetlands in the Black Sea and Mediterranean region on 2nd of February. In the course of the webinar, we aim to bring together key partners from the Black Sea and Mediterranean regions to share best practices for sustainable use of saltwater wetlands that could be replicated or transferred to other sites. The webinar will celebrate WWD 2022 and highlight the importance of saltwater wetlands for people and nature.
